The Problem
When poverty is prevalent, communities lack the resources and the educational tools to allow their youth to make a difference and better their own and their communities' lives. The Human Potential is currently working to address the lack of opportunities for youth; the lack of a bright future for the poverty-ridden nations throughout the world.
Mission Statement
Box Top
The Human Potential (THP) strives to expose at-risk youth to a world of opportunities through entrepreneurship and education. By motivating these leaders of tomorrow to follow their dreams, THP aims to be the vanguard of youth empowerment and poverty reform.
Box Bottom
THP Solution
THP seeks to bring a unique, one-year theoretical and experiential entrepreneurship curriculum to lower-income students at high schools throughout Peru. Generated with the help of Barefoot MBA, Educate!, and Stanford's School of Education, this program of study will educate the youth in a wide range of entrepreneurial, leadership, financial, and sustainability topics detailed below. By utilizing tertiary level students from top-performing universities as leaders to engage urban youth in these twice-weekly workshops, THP aims to foster collaboration between university and high school students, inspire entrepreneurship and bigger dreams, and encourage a community spirit.

Finally, THP intends to enable its students to find employment opportunities, gain entrances into top universities, and earn support of their new organizations. With this support system, THP will provide its students with unmatched flexibility and a higher probability of success in their future.

Theoretical Learning
The Human Potential believes in building a strong foundation through the teachings of the most powerful entrepreneurs. Our one-year program, aimed to motivate and inspire our students, will include:
  • Leadership (Personal, Principled, and Community)
  • Social-E (How to make effective change?, History, Case Studies)
  • For-Profit (Practical financial and marketing skills for the future)
  • Sustainability (Minimizing environmental impact)
  • Experiential Learning
THP plans to give its students an opportunity to collaboratively engage in a social venture of their choosing. Mentors will assist students in tailoring their specialized Capstone Project around both local and global issues relevant to their studies and experiences. By leveraging the resources and knowledge of THP, students will gain access to new opportunities for success and will learn necessary business, communication, and leadership skills in the process.
